Voices

She sits in an empty room with strange thoughts in her head
They say to her that she would be better off dead
There whispering voices say there is no point in living this lie
As she tries to fight them away she starts to cry
The voices tell her she is weak to shed tears
If only she could make them go away and live without fear
They tell her if she kills herself the world will become a better place
If only this girls angels could help her find grace
She walks down to the kitchen and grabs a knife
The voices tell her it is time to end her life
Something in her mind tells her this is not right
Suicide is not what should happen tonight
But the voices tell her that she will feel better once she has done the deed
So she quickly cuts herself and slowly away her life bleeds
The voices tell her it will be over very soon
As the girl peers out the window she sees the crescent of the moon
Tears are running swiftly down her face
Maybe soon she will feel the angel’s warm embrace
The voices sing in triumph as another human they have fooled
Now the girl is slipping away as her life seemed to be doomed
She begins to feel numb and the voices echo has left her head
As she sees the light she realises she is dead
