I've tried to accept it,
To swallow my pride
But i feel so guilty,
Even though YOU lied

My body still bruised,
From the beating last night
I thought i had escaped
Until you started the fight

You twisted my arm,
And yelled in my ear
"Kid, you're disgraceful"
As you downed another beer

Dad, i am just a girl,
Cant you give me a break?
I just want a loving family,
Without all this hate!

I do not want these scars,
Written across my face
Please, no more stitches,
I know i am a disgrace!

I hate lying to my friends,
About these black covered eyes,
"Why is your lip swollen,
Why is your arm limp by your side?"

What more can i say,
How much more can i hide?
"Oh i fell down the stairs"
But Dad, they know i have lied

So at the foot of my bed,
Once again i will pray
That some angel above
Will take me away

*I am a mess .. A freaking mess*

    The SOB will get what he deserves for his actions...and i hope that in the past four to five months that you have realized that you are not a disgrace. He is the disgrace because he needs to be an acceptable father.

    i feel so sorry this happens to you:((.....i must agree with the others: you're not a disgrace...i really wish i could help:(...isn't there anybody you could talk to? i mean like teachers or even the police?? it's time you do something about that so-called father of yours!...stay strong *hugs*

    You're not a disgrace for what someone else has brought upon you. You didnt ask for this, it's just another obstacle in life you have to break through to make you a stronger person, so stay strong to break through that wall because you've helped me break through so many of my own. I'm always here for you if you ever need ANYTHING at all. :)

    your not a disgrace, i bet almost anyone would lie to thier friends about something like that, you deserve a better father! your such a sweet girl no one should have a dad like that! i'm so sorry for your pain, but you can make it through! keep you hopes up great poem! PLP
