Tears of pain within

Drops of blood and skin

Rob me of my dignity
16 excuses, such deadly excuses
Anyone can see through me

16 phrases, such hated phrases
Cruel, unjust and mean
16 eyes, such blinded eyes
That let me go unseen

16 breaths, such gagging breaths
Too sore to scream and cry
16 tries, such failing tries
I feel them live and die

16 chances, sweet romances
But break my heart to shreds
16 strings, such battered strings
Around my neck and dead

16 dreams, such broken dreams
Squirming in my mind
16 tears, such burning tears
Cloud my vision and blind

16 smiles, such fake smiles
They're plastered on my face
16 angels, such fallen angels
Let me go in their embrace

16 years, such faded years
That have broken me into two
