Crimson Tears

by ♥-Sharon Ardern-♥   Mar 6, 2005

A cut. One simple slice.
The blood, the relief.
A single line, so precise.

It trickles down my thigh.
It’s the only way my body
Can truly cry.

I watch it turn from white
Then flood with red
Every single night.

The blood is every tear
That I can not shed
Proof my emotions are still here.

I don’t wipe it away:
For I love the feel of it
And I want it to stay.

And when the sharp pain
Eases and leaves, I cut
And I cut over and over again.

Because I have not cried
This blood is my tears
Proof to my numb mind, I have not died.
