Life Is Meaningless?

I was told today in church
That feeling you have no meaning
Can be the worst sort of hurt
It’s leaves you aching, screaming

And that is what I have felt
When the darkness became
A smothering blanket, the sun would melt
And I was left with such great pain

And I used to lie down in a field somewhere
Looking to the stars, begging to know why
I was on this earth, I reached but nothing was there
And when I realized it was futile, I wished to die

Why prolong something that means nothing at all?
Why continue an existence that will merely feed
Into another life that will try and rise, but still fall
Why live in a world filled with hate, torment and greed?

So many questions, the answers lay hidden
The catholic church made me feel
As if every pleasure was forbidden
And I convinced myself Faith wasn’t real

But then someone spoke at church one Sunday
He said that God, will take us AS WE ARE
Just ask the Lord, be honest, he’ll guide your way
Because God sees you, even if you drift so very far …

God never meant for the pain, we have choice to sin or not
What is wrong this world? Us, our own sins are the fault
And God is forever, even if we don’t see, God never forgot
I have been to the bottom, I have sinned, life came to a halt …

But He was waiting, He is loving, I am His child
Through all my hurt and pain, that many people saw
Is it not amazing, that I have finally felt peace in LIFE, and smiled?
A smile that warmed all of me, I don't feel meaningless anymore.

* I'm not saying I'll never feel pain again, but I now KNOW for CERTAIN that all I need do is turn to God and He will guide me.
