Early Sunday Morning

Early Sunday Morning

It's another early Sunday morning
I get up and get ready to go
As I walk up the steep steps
I reach the big wooden doors
Here I just stand starring
As questions run through my head
Is he real?
Is there a place after death?
Do I even believe?
I search for these answer
Which lie inside this building
I walk through the doors
Stepping into an unfamiliar place
And kneel facing the cross
I pray
Yet, not for me, but for you
As the choir sings
I humm along
The preacher steps up
and finally starts to speak
Giving us the Lord's words
Telling us the good and bad
Then we all pray together
I try remembering the words
Here I am closer
To a world I have forgotten
When the mass end, I hit my knees
I pray for you again
I walk away from the holy spirit
And realize
It was just another
Early Sunday Morning.
