Broken Angel

by broken angel   Mar 11, 2005

A pure little girl stares
Out her window at the sky
She has a secret wish
One day she wants to fly
But today is no different
Than any other day
She did nothing special
Had nothing unique to say
Her mom was taking her to practice
She had her ballet shoes
Her leotard and small white tights
She had been dancing since she was two
He never saw them coming
He’d been drinking all night
But if he’d been sober
The car would be in plain sight
He hit them at 90 miles an hour
But he stayed alive
A small child in her ballet suit
Just didn’t survive
A little fallen angel lay
On the highway last night
She lay in her own blood
Her body turned white
A man will live forever with
No answers to why
He ended her short fragile life
But now she can fly
