I heard the whispers in the rain screaming that night. Crying out for some salvation to be blessed upon them. No one tried to help, but simply ignored them. Even the fear of the lord couldn't save them for now they were struck with the plague of heart ache. Death was lingering at every corner of town, but I pulled you towards me as we glanced back on what we knew as our home. Flames tour through out memories of a better pasttime. A tear was shed, but we carried on into the dark night's sky in hopes of getting away fom this waste land. This secret I held from you scratched away at my soul, digging deeper and deeper until I kissed you. Yes, I kissed you! Only for the shear fact that our love could withstand the sorrows of this lifetime. But you pushed me away and walked yourself into the river. Screaming to the sky, "We all hate long good-byes so don't bother and just die." I walked alone. Nothing was left for me, but the picture of us together in my mind. I was alone. Never would I see the sunrise that day, for I heard whispers in the rain... |
