My Window

by Caitlyn   Mar 15, 2005

Look into the window
That leads to my soul,
See not only my individual parts
But me as a whole.

See the desires
The innermost thoughts of mine,
Feel the emotions I cannot explain
Follow my steps in the same exact line.

Take a closer view
Gaze into the portals of my path,
Listen to the promises and lies
Study the power of forgiveness and the strength of wrath.

The secrets I held in
The times I cherished for so long,
Now you can see what means so much
And the pain that in my head pounds like a gong.

As you wander through the intriguing world
That myself has created throughout the years,
You are able to relive my amazing times
However, you are forced to cry my same tears.

To see through someone
Is a dangerous thing,
You might be able to understand
Though you will never grip the troubles it could bring.

Take a closer view
Gaze into the portals of my path,
Listen to the promises and lies
Study the power of forgiveness and the strength of wrath.

Nevertheless, you look at me
With the familiar puzzled look,
With that blank expression
Telling me that you cannot read me like a book.

I look at you
And penetrate you with one glance,
Maybe one day you will realize
You can peek through my daring trance.

Maybe one day you will understand
That the path I tell you to find,
Is through these eyes
That shouts out my heart, my soul, my mind.

If you dare take a closer view
Gaze into the portals of my path,
Listen to the promises and lies
Study the power of forgiveness and the strength of wrath.
