Realization

by Caitlyn   Feb 20, 2006

Realization is beautiful
Ignorance is bliss,
Understanding is useful
But love is still amiss.

Wonder is dangerous
Confusion is a killer,
Kindness is so few
And now lies are the filler.

Empty words are in many
And cheap lines are all you know,
Memories of the past and dreams of the future
Are the weight I continually tow.

Falling is a habit
That I seemed to have mastered,
Loving is a pattern
Thats amazement has me captured.

Realization is scary
Because it tells me what is true,
Ignorance is awful
Because then I no longer know you.

I do not know who you are now
I give you credit for who you used to be,
But with understanding
I realize you are not the same to me.

Wonder leaves me in tears
And confusion slowly burns,
Kindness seems so far
And lies are in every turn.

The same things always said
The same promises always broken,
Wasting time on the memories
And old words are choking.

I have lost so much faith
In the things I once held so high,
Things I used to strive for
Are the things I do not even want to try.

Losing is hurtful
Being alone is so scary,
But I cannot continue to fear
I cannot continue to tarry.

Time is a medicine
For the things you regret,
But nothing makes things better
That you would rather forget.
