I Miss You

I vaguely remember
Walking down that path
Talking and singing
You were always my better half

And we would reminisce
About the good old days
We would always laugh
About our childish ways

I never saw it coming
You were always so strong
I always thought you were alright
I thought that too long

When I heard the news
I almost lost my breath
You were all I had
All I had left

They told me you overdosed
But I knew you were just sad
I did not think it would go this far
I did not know it was that bad

I always thought it’d be me first
But you were my help line
Somehow I lost track
And hadn\'t seen your signs

You were so withdrawn
But you still seemed grounded
Like you were going somewhere
Like you’d always be around

We had our good times
You had your own too
You had so many friends
How did this happen to you

I can still see your face now
So reassuring, so much care
And even though your gone
Your still always there

I wish I could of told you
That I love and miss you
That you mean so much to me
I wish I could of said that too

So I do remember walking down
That path of your memory
But it’s not the same
When it’s only me
