Immortalities Curse

by Victoria   Mar 19, 2005

I stand here and watch like I have done for many years
This soul has cried an ocean worth of tears
I have seen everyone I have ever cared about fall to the ground
But still in this body my heart pounds
I have witnessed the biggest battles know to man
I have sang and danced with the Greek god pan
I saw the last stone on the pyramids being placed
I have witnessed the fall of the world’s greatest race
I walked the streets in roman times
I’ve seen the trials and executions for petty crimes
I was their when a dictator took away many peoples right to be free
Some of the world’s worst disasters I have been able to see
But all this knowledge I would gladly throw away
You see I live with a great pain every day
The one I truly loved is a long time dead
He is the only dream I have left my head
To have seen so much is a burden even for my mind
If only the good in this world I could find
I envy the mortals I see walking around
As one day by the angels they will be found
But for me that day will never come I am cursed to live on with this ache in my heart
To be mortal would be my one wish so finally my soul and body would linger apart

*my imagination got the better of me again!
