Long Lost Stories

by Austin   Mar 22, 2005

I am of what angels once sang
Those long lost stories of old
I was once that glorious thing
That made the world spin

But now the world falls
Things aren’t always as they seem
Condemned by man’s Laws
This is now where I live

No longer tasting the light
Dwindled by darkness
Consumed by the endless night
I now have no faith

Trapped in a shell
And nothing seems to be right
Nothing is at all well
Locked away from all sight

Never again shall I see her face
The face of Glory itself
For I am trapped in endless space
Kept away from her

At times I hear her call
And it seems the darkness lightens
But once again I only fall
Back into this Hell

I call it Hell
As so you may see
It all very well
May be that it is

No light to keep me faithful
Lost in the translations of old
No longer can I take this deep
I must soon overcome

This isn’ t the place for me
I don’t belong among the lost
My words are too profound
To have the meanings forgotten

But as I have been told
Like the long lost stories of old
I was once that
Of which the angels sing

Your poem again... is amazing. so much so

You just now inspired me to write this:

    Shattered Adversary

    The adversary coats you
    in an ever thickening shell.
    Adding layer over layer
just to keep you in his spell.

    The spell of his temptations
    Every whisper that he makes.
Wants to smother you in sadness
for he wants to see you break.

    He continues with the pressure
wants to fold you in a shroud.
Knowing well that he must bury
    every Noble that is found.

For to him you are a focus,
He's aware that you are strong.
    Even Angels sing about you
    in a very special song.

    They sing about the triumphs,
    you accomplish when your free.
About the power of your presence,
    and your capabilities.

    They sing about the hour
when you come to see this truth.
that your meant for something epic
    and that Satan's after you.

But most of all... they sing about,
how you escape from satans cage.
    In a shattering of layers,
with the brightness of your rage.

For they know that satan's weaker
and can't keep you in his hold.
As they watch with smiles from heaven,
    as your wondrous wings unfold.
