Once Upon A Time....

Once upon a time
A girl slept in a house
Just past fantasy land
Over the hills
Near the sand man

Her walls made of glass
Floors of tiles
Her room held a key
To the door of denials

The key lyes in a wooden box
By the foot of her bed
When nightmares creep up
She can open the door instead

One night she awoke
The first time in a hundred years
And she found the box
To unlock the door reading no fears

She stepped in a world
Where flowers sprung
Smiles crossed paths
And rays of sunshine hung

She kept walking towards a river
Where she saw the shimmer of light
When she dared to touch the water
She saw the sky turn to night

She turned to see
That the flowers had began to wilt
Tears surrounded her
From dark clouds that split

She ran back to her door
And closed the book behind
But when she got back
Her home she couldn’t find

Paper beings walked the rows
As she was stared at with a thousand eyes
All with tears welling up
Pleading for her to save them from lies

Then she spotted a box
Lying under gleaming gold
She quickly ran to it
And the blanket began to unfold

She opened the little wooden box
And put back the key
The paper slowly faded
And eyes were set free

She turned around to find
A bright colored bed
She put the wooden box near her pillow
And for one last time, rested her head
