Disaster In Progress

by *~*Soldier Lover*~*   Mar 26, 2005

Watching and waiting.
Hoping and dreaming.
Sitting by the phone.
Wishing he would call.
Going off to bed, alone, again.
It's because she's a disaster in progress.

Standing on her own two feet.
Always someone there to trip her.
Silent screams and little prayers.
Cool tears running down her cheeks.
If only someone would reach out to hold her hand.
It's because she's a disaster in progress.

As she falls, further and further.
She calls out, but no one is there to hear.
Searching for a way out of the misery.
What a hard life it's been and always will be.
It's because she's a disaster in progress.

The decision is final.
Her days have slowly winded down.
It all came to one moment.
One less mouth to feed.
It's because she was a disaster in progress.
