The eye of a child

by mayme   Mar 28, 2005

They tell us not to worry
we will be OK,
but have they forgot that September day.

When America was shook in the soul.
A surprise attack on a massive scale.
Innocent lives taken by a hatred hail.

The fear we felt while visiting the mall.
The suicide bomber wondering the hall.
When you could trust no one, not even a priest.

And somehow you manage to say
that everything will be alright.
And I believe you,
because I remember Pennsylvania.
