Circus of nightmares

by Lost Girl   Apr 9, 2005

The crowd stares with empty eyes
Not one dares to look through the paint
See through the clown’s disguise

Stole me away again last night
I fought back through the parade
Look for you through the spot light

You haunt my dreams each time I sleep
Through my sanity I feel you glide
Behind the shadows decorated bodies creep

So afraid of what night will bring
Hold me down and dance around
That familiar song you always sing

Not one word to me do you ever utter
You leave me next morning alone
With the sewer rats in the gutter

Dying animals ride around cold and starving
The circus clowns leave with no trace
But there on my arm are elaborate carvings
