You Knew

You knew what was going on,
yet you never said a word,
those few years you ignored it,
because you thought it was what he preferred.

He was reaching out for help,
but all you did was close your eyes,
so you could say you stood with him through it,
but we both know its a bunch of lies.

You would have been there yes,
but you would have been there to watch him fall,
and who knows if we hadn't talked to you,
would you have still made that call?

The call that saved his life,
the call that made him stop and think,
I wish that I can say you would have,
helped him step back from off the brink.

But I am not so sure,
because you knew what was going on,
and even still you said things were fine,
as he was becoming more and more withdrawn.

I am not saying this to hurt you,
its just what I believe and feel,
if we had of stayed out of it,
his deed might have been a done deal.
