My Dark Road

by Momentary Relapse   Apr 14, 2005

Darkness is my path to stride
I have long since started down it
I gaze at you calculatingly
To me you have very little wit

A thousand times I will continue
I will never turn from my dark road
Once I placed both feet firmly
I traveled knowing what will unfold

You beg me to let you come
Never have we for long departed
Yet I cannot let you come with me
You my brother must not be dishearted

My path I must travel alone
For in it I am going to the dark
Yet one of us must remain good
These words you well mark

My path is made for the darkness
Yours my brother is for the light
If you were asked to come with me
I truly believe to come you might

But my brother I ask you to stay
Do not come along with me
I alone must follow my dark path
I know you will one day see

I do not ask you to understand or forgive
Only to allow me to continue my way
Farewell my brother until we again meet
Perhaps you will understand one day

Darkness is my path to stride
I am going to remain forever on my road
My dullwitted brother you will learn
I leave you an orphan to abode
