Swimming

by No Motiv?   Apr 17, 2005

I swear,
the water does not
just surround me.
It swallows me,
its tongue rolls across
every inch of flesh,
every curve.
It is as if one tied
string to my toes;
when I kick,
I feel a gentle pull
as water swirls around
my limbs.

When I stay under
and surrender my breath,
my lungs sweetly ache.
Finally,
I am relieved,
air tastes better when
you're deprived.

I do believe I love
to swim.
I love to be surrounded.

Sensual with undercurrents (no pun intended) of eroticism, but nothing so flagrantly alluded that the understatedness is undone. Very nicely worked.

How original! I really like it! I don't think I know of anyone else on here who writes about their love of swimming! It's real good that you can write about things other than the usual love or depression...well done! Sarah-Lou x x x
