I tried to play, and stay with you

by marc   Apr 18, 2005

I tried to play, and I asked you to stay. I asked you to stay with me, and asked you to play with me. I asked you to play the game of love, even when I knew it would be tough.

I was tough to say that I sometimes didn't want to stay. I didn't want to stay because I didn't know what to say. I didn't know what to say when you would say "hey maybe we shouldn't be together." On those occasions I would feel light as a feather, only because my heart and soul were gone.

They were gone, and I tried to feel strong, strong at heart, and twice as smart. Smart enough to know that what I was told was wrong. It was wrong in the way that I didn't want to stay.

You left me when I was high, and you left me when I was dry. You left with no remorse, and planning on going into a different course. You planned to leave without a goodbye, the only thing that stopped you was the fact that you were high.

You were high enough to say that you wanted to play. I knew it was a Ly because of the way that I had tried.

I want you to know that even when you were told that I was a "trick" you still wanted my stick.

After that night you never admitted what you wanted. You said you wanted a life with a partner to survive with. Well that was me, and now I plead, "please take me back."
