Farewell

by Gerard Kurt   Apr 24, 2005

I'm innocent, all ears please listen.
Your making a big mistake.
You can accuse or have me beaten,
But my life you cannot take.

I lived my life in righteous way.
I helped the poor and always pray.
So let my death be on delay,
So I can tell you what I have to say.

I'm innocent, oh people hear.
My cry of grief is true.
My mother's crying 'coz she can't bear
The sufferings I've been through.

My relatives please don't grieve.
Don't let me see your tears.
'Coz in my mind I will conceive
Our happy days on all those years.

My friends do not be sad
'Coz I'll remember those times we had.
Let me live in your dreams forever.
For after all, your lives not over.

I guess my time on earth has ended.
The heavens waiting for me now.
Let my death be a reminder
That justice is blind and it's unfair.

Farewell to you beloved land.
It's time for me to leave.
Beloved people of tender hands,
May you never be deceived.

Into the heavens I will soar.
And will stay there forevermore.
In there I'll sit beside a man divine
And pray your fate won't be like mine.

I'm innocent, believe if you will.
My soul you cannot take.
My body may become dust on earth,
But my memory here will forever dwell.

I don't know why or how, but this poem somehow pulls at me. And I like when that happens. So this leaves me no choice but to vote 5/5. Very well done!
    Luv always, KT
