Room on the 2nd Floor

by M J U   May 11, 2005

There ain't no elevator
so you'll have to use the stairs.
There's writing on the wall,
it seems that no one cares.

It's just a room on the second floor,
the rent is pretty cheap.
You'd think that they'd pay me
to live in this old heap.

Just a room on the second floor,
it really ain't too bad.
I would've asked for better, but
this was all they had.

I pay no water bill
and some may question, "why?"
It's really very simple.
The tap is always dry.

I blow a fuse once a week,
they say they'll fix that soon.
In winter time I freeze my buns
then sweat them off in June.

I don't know why I stay here
with things the way they are.
Everything was better off
when I lived inside my car!
