I Shall Stand!

I used to fall
Like I jumped out of a plane without a parachute
My heart would bleed
As if I was shot

But then I grew stronger
And I could stand up
So when I felt myself falling
I caught myself and lifted myself up

I stood strong
As you tried to hurt me
I didn't cry
As you told me I was a "Nothing"

When I was on the ground
Trying to get up
You would push me down
And I would cry, begging you to let me up

Now I stand
Not falling with the pain you try to cause me
Not letting go of my heart
And not letting go of my balance

When someone tries to hurt me
I put my head up
Gathering up all my strength
And I keep going

Not only did I get stronger
I gathered up all my courage and got bravery
I gathered up my life and got it straight
And I decided to show it

Try to push me down
Try to hurt me
Try to do anything bad to me
But you will not succeed

I am not the same person
I will not let you walk all over me
I will not let myself fall
Instead I will keep myself standing!
