This is me

by elizabeth   May 12, 2005

It is normal to want to fit in
But one’s true self is not something to hide
We want to be accepted
So by society’s rules we do abide

But I am sick of this mask
Tired of my disguise
Because no on really knows
The thoughts behind my eyes

I’m breaking the stereotype
Breaking the bind
Regardless of what you think
In that thing of yours, your judging mind

I am opening myself up
Everything, the world shall know
For I’m ending this,
This pointless show

So here I stand
This is me
No strings attached
For all the world to see
