I Was Wrong

by Lauraballz   May 15, 2005

I was wrong to think that maybe you could have liked me more than a friend.
I was wrong to think that the things you did could reflect how you feel in the end.
I was wrong to believe that you would get over her and fall for me.
I was wrong to believe that you would soon see what there could be.
I was wrong to plead for something that was never there.
I was wrong to plead for something that I knew was too rare.
I was wrong to beg for a life beyond the pain and be with you forever.
I was wrong to beg for a future where we could both at last be together.
I was wrong to assume that you felt for me the things you could never.
I was wrong to assume there was something we could achieve despite the stormy weather.
I was wrong to progress my thoughts so willingly with hope.
I was wrong to progress my feelings when I knew I couldn't cope.
I was wrong to let myself in for something I knew would only hurt me.
I was wrong to let myself in for the most tears there could ever be.
I should have known better than to let you into my heart when I knew there was so much inevitable.
I should have known better than to fall in love with you baby.

xXx
