Nothing to lose??

by xfAdInGxaWaYx   May 15, 2005

You pretend to be strong,
Act like nothing is wrong.
You don't know how much more you can take,
And it's yourself you begin to hate.

With bands and bracelets you hide the scars,
Press your face against the bars.
Of the gaol life holds,
But everything else folds.

Now nothing can keep you going,
It's only you I want to be holding.
Keep you safe from all your pain,
But already the carpet is stained.

From your red, red blood.
Rain begins to fall, dirt turns to mud.
The pills are in your hand,
At which your mind demands.

A small, small voice is heard,
You can just make out the words.
"I'm still here!" it cries,
You just say, "It was all lies!"

Lies, that's all it was,
And that's what left you lost.
This black, horrible world you're hating,
From which you want to be taken.

All it is, is a few mouthfuls,
You laugh at all them fools!
You can control what's happening to you,
Take it by the throat, nothing to lose.

Except that small, small voice, remember?
Easily put out, like embers.
And what about your friends?
For them this isn't the end.

Suddenly what you have done is so real,
That small, small voice cries out and you can feel.
The pain you have placed,
On your friend's faces.

What about them? Or didn't you think of that?
You just stabbed them in the back.
Leaving them in this cruel place,
You can't help them up here in space.

Just imagine what it would be like,
Going to a friends farewell rite.
Can you feel that pain of betrayal?
Well guess what! You just failed!
