How low can we fall?

by Michael D Nalley   May 15, 2005

How low can anyone fall?
Who is the lowest of all?
Good and evil in a duel
From the wisest to the fool

In dark hours I’ve thought of this
Good was betrayed by a kiss
Darkness falls to the abyss
Far from the light it will miss

How many words does it take?
Tell the truth for heaven’s sake
There are many lives at stake
How much time before we wake

The soul cannot hit its mark
Before seeing past the dark
Souls are lost my heart does bleed
Please accept the love we all need

There are those we cannot trust
They may seek chemical dust
Smoldering souls dying lust
We must feel what we all must

Do we feel the need to run?
From the bright light of the sun
Darkness has its lies to tell
Leading dark souls straight to hell
