Maybe Love Was Too Strong A Word

by Jessica   May 18, 2005

It bites like the chill of an ice storm,
It hurts like the burn of a fire,
Memories come and go in my mind,
Crying inside all the while.

You left me with feelings of doubt,
I’ve torn up all the notes that I kissed,
I hold your words in my chest,
Not being able to let go of the one I missed.

She must be a lucky girl,
To have such a wonderful man,
But even with the support I give you,
I have no more legs upon which to stand.

The love that I give is used once,
And you emptied my tank when you left alone,
My smile has long ago faded,
How could I have not known?
