Tears At Five

She Walks To Kindergarten
Her Dress Is All The Same
With Added Bruises
And The Ones That Still Remain

Her Emerald Eyes
Shine And They Glow
With Pain Behind Them
Hoping The World Won't Know

She Doesn't Smile
She Stares Into Space
When She Cracks a Smile
Its Seems Out Of Place

The Teacher Asks
In Hopes She Would Confide
The Secrets This Girl
Clearly Had Inside

She Asks Of The Bruises
Them Being Black And Blue
And Why Did Her Black Eye
Develop On To Two

The Girl Got Scared
And Stared With Emerald Eyes
Held On To The Teacher
And Released Her Haily Cries

See Daddy Gets Mad
And Hits Me When He's Heated
I Don't Fight Back
I End Up Just Defeated

Emerald Eyes Goes Home
The Teacher Thinks To Call
She Gets Upset
And Tells Her Dad She Knows It All

She Never Returned To School
a Year Later There Was a Search
Little Emerald Was Found
Berried Deep In Six Inch Dirt

A Little Girl Told All
And Then She Sadly Died
a Victim Of Her Fathers
Retched Homicide

This Poem Is In Loving Memory Of Little Emerald Eyes

This is very sad. I can relate to the secrets that not only a child, but even adults try to hide.

Strange, I just wrote one titled A Mother's Plee about child abuse and posted it today.

    Good job.
