It's Alright.

by Daphne Darling   May 23, 2005

It’s Alright.

It's alright; I'll just blunder around,
Trying to figure out all the lies,
And I'll wonder if you ever cared,
I don't really care this time around.

I'm feeling alright, as every one scatters,
It’s alright for me because I'll be free,
You really shouldn't worry so much,
It’s all going to end after a while anyway.

Do you think I could stuff up any less?
If I tried to let it all spill outside,
I could cry or I could scream and shout,
I don't think you'd care either way.

But that’s alright, I'm feeling alright now,
It'll all be fine for me once I'm free,
You really shouldn't flutter so much,
It’s just a distant reminder of why.

I'm wondering if it really is like this,
Am I as real as I claimed to be?
Could I just disappear on everything?
Let it all be just a fleeting smile?

Yes I'm wondering if someone could lie like you,
I'm wondering what it's like to hide,
Wondering if the mask really does shatter,
Or stays on forever onwards.

It's a blur and I really can’t follow the flow,
The tides are leaking outwards,
And I am trapped on the shore,
Can’t seem to step any further outwards.

The lights can’t seem to shine through,
It’s another dully-lit nightmare for me,
As the feet clatter by the bed posts,
Can they hear the screams coming from within?

But its all alright, really I am feeling just fine,
You see it's not like I am trapped inside any more,
You really should be getting along now,
It’s not like you can help me from so far away.
