The rain

Let me stand here in the rain
and feel the droplets roll off my skin, as more fall to replace them
Let the coolness and moisture cleanse my mind
free the emotion,
leave everything behind
Let this storm pass over me
help me escape and let things be
Why won't the rain wash away my fear
let me clarify what I hold dear
All I'd like to do is stand here in the rain
let the raindrops fall, numb any pain
Let me hear the falling drops patter
and let the world be this simple,
