A saddness in my eye's

These are the eye's that have lived a life time
in just sixteen years

the eye's that have seen
alcohol abuse
and hurt
and rejection
in just sixteen years.

these are the eye's that have seen mommy cry
and daddy almost die.

these are the eye's that looked up at the sky
and prayed to god
that we would survive till tomorrow
just until tomorrow

these are the eye's that have
seen hurt and pain.

and you can be sure to bet.
I will see it again.

these are the eye's that will not cry for you.
for you see I've been through it all before.

these are the eye's that don't want to hurt anymore.

these are the eye's that will
see the world come crashing to my feet
again
and again

never will I get a break
never will I survive
just once let me close my eye's
