Butterfly of hope

One day, I was sitting on the grass
And was waiting for the time to pass,
I was thinking of finding release
And recovering my inner peace…

I remembered all the suffering and pain
And all the times I cried in vain.
The sun was shining in the bright blue sky
As I was staring at this pretty butterfly…

It was so beautiful with its wings so blue,
It left a trail of sparkles as away it flew.
Mesmerized, I was following it around,
Stepping carefully, without a sound…

Running after it in that sunny day,
I was smiling happy all the way.
For a moment then, I forgot all the pain,
All of my problems and all of the blame…

Little things are the ones that matter more I see,
That little butterfly helped reveal the real me:
A teenager who’s still a child deep inside
Who wanders in places where hope never died…

A simple creature like this pretty butterfly
Can make you feel happy without knowing why,
And then in the end you start to see,
Hope is with you if you want it to be…
