As good as a dream

She misunderstood life at first
Thought it to be nothing but bad
She was going through a tough time
So she didn't think she'd ever stop being sad

She cried so many tears
All those days and nights
Memories she looks back on
Of times when nothing seemed right

People tried to bring her down
Yet the whole time she stayed strong
They thought she'd fall into misery
But she had proved them wrong

She made it through the tears
She made it through alone
She showed them she was enough
She could make it on her own

It's true she had her mistakes
There were many that she made
Every decision affected her
In ways that will never fade

She learned from each and every choice
A little more about her life
She took the time to think about it
And saw she didn't have to rely on the knife

She found new ways to let go
And people that truly care
She didn't need the slef harm
There were other ways to bear

She looks at things differently
And sees how good it is
Though it may not be the best
She truly is in bliss

She has her friends and family there
And though it may not seem
She knows how much they care for her
And she knows that her life is as good as a dream
