A Thousand

by Dani Ward   Jun 1, 2005

A thousand tears I've cried
a thousand sadnesses I've known
a thousand deaths I've died
a thousand years I've blown
a thousand times I've loved you
a thousand days I've killed
a thousand things i made anew
a thousand jars my blood has filled
a thousand ways i was hated
a thousand kisses i never knew
a thousand people, me berated
a thousand flights i never flew
a thousand wounds I've felt
a thousand joys as well
a thousand places I've knelt
a thousand tales i tell
a thousand hellos I've heard
a thousand were never said
a thousand unspoken words
a thousand lies I've been fed
a thousand have gone on before
a thousand have not yet known life
a thousand words of forgotten lore
a thousand cuts from the knife
a thousand dreams i have dreamed
a thousand hopes i have hoped
a thousand screams i have screamed
a thousand pains with which i have coped
a thousand breaks my heart has broken
a thousand bites on my skin
a thousand mornings never awoken
a thousand nights locked within
a thousand leaves have fallen
a thousand goodbyes i say
a thousand angels are callin'
a thousand eternities i shall lay

    A thousand times I read, "A thousand."

Hehe, I'm just kidding. Interesting idea, though. Anne's right. It might be a bit too repetitive. Repition's worth using if not overused (like cliche).

Thats sad, but still very good. I'm not a big fan of repetative poetry, but I actually liked this one a lot.
