Ending too soon

As pretty as a rose,
you are as sweet.
There is nothing better than the
sweetness of friendship.
Can't you taste the bitter sweet
of this great thing we have going?
I wish I could create something endless,
but it won't happen because us,
among other things,
must change with time.
There is nothing better than
a friendship like this, but it has to end
sometime, and I'm ending it here and now
so we don't have to bear the
pain and separation of it later
