I've dreamed, but always in vain,
I've loved, but remained fully sain,
I've held, but never quite felt,
I've witnessed, but never quite dealt,
I've hurt, but not from the pain,
I've melted, but not from the rain,
I've desired, but not from temptation,
I've arrived, but never to my destination,
I've thought, but never challenged,
I've seen, but never acknowledged,
I've hated, but never for a reason,
I've changed, but not with the seasons,
I've written, but never read,
I've died, but never remained dead.
