Let Me Help

You sit in class, try to hide your feelings so
that no one can see
But there is always something present, like
a call for help from me
And my help is all I have to give, even
though I can’t always help you
I just wish that you would talk to me, and
your feelings to be true

I’m here offering a helping hand, if you will
take it in yours
I’m forever just here to ease the pain of each
of life’s daily chores

I want to talk again
Tell me anything you want, about your
sadness, love or pain

I want to talk like we used to, where you would
tell me how you feel
You can even show me all those feelings
you’re afraid to reveal
And it’s no use living each day wearing that
same old fake smile
You know you’re not helping anyone keep
living in this denial

Each day I hope that one day everything will
finally be okay
For you I will be there, to hold your hand every
step of the way
Even when it seems as if the world is grey, and
you despise yourself
