The Unknown Ones

People in this world,
don't care for one another,
selfish thoughts,
from selfish minds,
What do they care,
if they drive someone,
to the edge of a blade.
As long as they feel,
good about themselves,
nothing matters,
no one matters.

People in this world,
don't bother to speak,
with another,
that is a little different,
they are unique,
they are strange,
therefore they don't feel,
hurt, pain or sadness.

There she sits,
all alone,
quietly sitting,hiding,
hiding beneath that old, worn hat.

People say,
its because shes bald,
maybe she is,
No one will ever know,
that she rips her own hair out,
as she turns and tosses,
when she is even more alone,
in the time we call sleep,
but for her a never ending darkness.

People avoid her,
they say she must be mad,
mad people don't have feelings,
so when they laugh and point,
they don't hurt her,
they don't have to,
she hurts herself,
but she is going,
going to fly,
fly away from it all.

She wears a thick coat of makeup,
so much you cant see her,
or who she really is,
but that is her intention,
if no one can see her,
no one can know her,
if no one can know her,
no one will love her,
if no one can love her,
then she cant love them,
then no one can hurt her,
except herself.

Sure,
they tease her,
but they cant hurt her,
if they don't know,
what it is that really hurts her,
herself.

what does she do,
when shes protected,
from everyone,
except the one that hurts her the most.
she cries, until nothing is left.
and then she flies away.
away from everyone,
away from herself.

One day,
they will both fly away,
who knows what they could have taught us,
we will never know.
we never spoke to them,
and now we never can.
The glowing light of life,
is now gone forever.
for because selfishness remains.
They shall remain forever,
The Unknown.
