Goodbye Before it has really finished

My darling friend,
i know the hardships you have been through,
though i can never truly understand the hurt you have felt,
let me say everything has added to your beauty,
your precious spirit,
your inspirational look on life.
to me your face to me means joy,
your never ending praise,
lifts my spirits,
carries my pain away,
you have been near me since i was born,
i remember my entire life, you have been here,
it tears my heart to know that you must leave me soon,
but i leap for joy that your painful path is ending,
that you may rest in peace,
to know that soon,
you will see you boys again.
i love you dear heart,
i always will,
i will remember all you have taught me,
i will remember to try and smile.
we will party long and hard in your memory,
the thousands you have touched will never forget,
you beautiful old man,
with a heart of gold,
that through the years has had a beating,
all i am trying to say dear heart,
is thank you,
i will miss you so so much,
but the comfort i have is simply that you loved me back,
that you spent so much precious time with me,
that you have left beautiful memories to last my life time,
my lifetime left without you.
memories i shall hold onto,
with every thing i have,
to lose my memories of you would be dying heart for me.
all i can do right now, is squeeze you tight, and whisper I will always love you.
because i will.

*this poem may not make sense to you, but this was a simple version of the thoughts running round in my mind at the time, and still are. my darling Reggie was given just a few weeks more in this life at the time i wrote this, it was, the doctors said, time for his journey to the next one. i will miss him with every part of my being, yet i am joyous that he was finally able to join his sons, for that is the dream he held in his heart for many many years. i love him heaps, cant believe he has gone*
