Suicidal Dreams

Nothing’s alright, no nothing’s okay
I’m broken and I’m torn
And for every single tear that falls
Another fake smile is worn

Well the smiles are translucent now
For the pain’s too much to hide
Every attempt at life is futile
I promise, I really tried

Those shadows that I fear the most
Are swallowing me whole
I’m too sick to even fight for my breath
As I slowly lose control

Despair and tears pull my flesh apart
Carving death into my veins
Darkness cascades over broken truths
Now soaked in old bloodstains

A pillow of dreams now shattered and scarred
Laid to rest in a dusty drawer
A body of hopes now pale and weak
Choked with pills upon the floor

And those flying fears have followed me
Spinning circles around my hope
I’m spiralling in an endless mess
Spinning, hanging from my rope

Jumping from everything that I knew
Falling free-fall in the air
Escaping life one very last time
So overcome with my despair

The water comes to meet my lungs
Splashing sadness in my strife
Filling me with a desperate calmness
I’m trading death for life

So tell me everything will be ok
Whilst I’m splitting at the seams
The shadows will come and I’ll be alone
With it’s suicidal dreams
