Your Light I Seek

by Sarah Ann   Jun 21, 2005

So much work I can’t keep up
There are a lot of things to do
My time is limited by the hour
Yet I have time to pray to you

I take a step into a new school
Because you allowed me to go
So that I may be very successful
And to learn what I don’t know

I wake up every early morning
Only if it is in your own will
For you can take my very soul
Only you can make it all still

My praises are all for you God
How I hope that you are there
As sinful as I may deem to be
Your displeasure I can’t bear

Never until this very moment
I realized how much I strayed
I should have been conscious
I should have always prayed

I am falling now without you
But how’d I fall so far below
I used to be strong in my faith
But now where did it all go

Please show me to your way
I can not tell wrong from right
My falsehood is like the truth
Like I confuse day with night

Without you I am nothing
For I am just a piece of clay
Bring me back onto your road
Show me the righteous way

Please God guide me to you
For my soul and faith is weak
I have all the time in the world
It’s your light that I still seek
