Trial - Reality vs. Pain

by Unseen Exposure   Jun 26, 2005

Faith has reached an unbearable limit
As opposed to hope that lives with pride
You'd think that life would learn a lesson
Since the walls of insanity have been defied
Well I'll preach to them the theory
I'll speak to them of the routine sickness
Contagious words and emotions
Will prove to the jury of pain's witness
Fractured phrases fall out of turn
Spilling over into massive confusion
I swear to you I'd break this shell
If reality wasn't such an illusion
Colors display themselves inside the mind
That once was black and white
Now blood red colors seep between
The faded sheets at night
I'll escape these malicious voices
When I can pry myself from this position
And although I'd love to take the blame
I was not the cause of this collision
But I will not forget these scars
Or the way they so often seem to bleed
Butchered by the trials of pain
The appeals of something we cannot exceed
Guilty made the plea of innocence
And got away with just a warning
But irreversible damage is not erased
By simple lies that gathered swarming
So, theoretically, I should smile
I should hide this fure of saline tears
But inevitably spoken "should"s collect
And reality always interferes.

Very well planned poem. Using a trial situation to deal with the real issues of life, its very clever. I enjoy it very much. You are an amazing writer km, and you have a very creative style. Sticking to the subject might be an issue but leaving the reality of the subject also makes it more interesting. Awesome poem. ;-)
