Goodbye Forever

Now my friend I say goodbye,
I'm leaving here, but please don't sigh,
Upon a plane I'll leave and gone am I,
For me it is this which you must try:
If I don't return, please don't cry.

How long I'll be gone I know not,
But when I return I know I'll be forgot,
So distant will I be in your memory,
To you a stranger shall I be,
So please, don't cry for me.

Though your tears run now I know,
That as the weeks go past,
And a time passes so vast,
You will never remember me,
So don't cry, and let me be.

So if I can't manage to remain un-shot,
Or get blown to pieces with carry-cots,
And tourists and people and what-not,
For it is you know, to a warzone I go,
Don't cry for me, me who you'll hardly know.

But if I come back happily,
All in one piece and stably,
And upon my return I visit you not,
For I am sure that either you or I will be forgot,
Please don't cry.

    Hey daniel,
    i've never heard of u b4 but when i saw ur comment i decided to check u out. luv ur poems! by the way, my poem u commented on is finished n improved, so hope u'll read it n like it now, i fixed that mistake. This poem i just read is amazingly wonderful...it almost made me cry...alot of my friends have moved away or gone to war...and i always find tears for them, but i would never forget them, friends run footprints through your heart....

    I really liked this poem.. i cant pinpoint it, but for some reason it reminds me of a movie or war or somthing. but either way it is still meaningful and sends across a strong message.... i know however, that the one i love, i will never forget nomatter how long we are apart, they will always remain in my heart, and all the memories we shared never forgotten... my favorite part was
