The Glow

The sun is rising in the distant shadows
Glowing hues into the dark
As a silhouette lays down her head
And rests her bleeding heart

Silence chokes her peaceful slumber
Forcing tears into her eyes
And as the dawn cascades around her
She’s held by her disguise

Motionless, she’s lulled by pain
Driving spears inside her head
Sore and shaking below the glow
A silhouette upon on my bed

Silent tears fall on the floor
As I realise what I’ve become
I try to take the pain from her
But still I am so numb

Treading across the dusty room
I reach out to the light
The only thing I know that’s real
Inside this endless plight

The sun-drops burn my tired eyes
And as I raise my hands
Reality slips right through my fingers
Like flowing grains of sand

This is my time, before it’s too late
Her pain will soak me through
I stand before her crimson gown
With nothing else left to do

Skin to skin, pale, complex
Our fingers intertwine
Wrapping woes around the glow
I feel her soul is mine

And I feel

Nothing

    Wow, wondeful poem Toni.

    My favourite stanza was:
    ''Silent tears fall on the floor
    As I realise what I’ve become
    I try to take the pain from her
    But still I am so numb''

    Stay strong hun, You're a beautiful and caring person inside and out and you deserve to live in total happiness. It will get better hun, your pain will go away.
