Ghost

by Strange Angel   Jul 4, 2005

I saw a ghost today
I was walking down the hall.
Looking in the mirror,
Fragile and small.

She turned her face toward me,
And I’m sure I recognised,
The rosy lips, velvet hair,
And mysterious auburn eyes.

Her hair was dark,
And framed her face
She flicked it from her eyes.

Upon her lips,
A glowing smile,
Her penetrating eyes.

She looked upon my body,
And deep within my soul,
I knew what she was searching for,
That feeling to make her whole.

I ripped my eyes away
From her strong and beautiful gaze,
And swiftly turned around
To see her through the haze.

But what I saw was not a surprise,
And I was all alone.
No one held those eyes,
And I was back at home.

Turning toward the mirror,
I was scared to see,
That the girl looking back,
Once again was me.
