Feasting Flies

by Fig   Jul 4, 2005

(warning-rubbish poem, was written on the spot in about 5 minutes. please don't shout at me, i know tis terrible, but i thought id post it anyway...another warning-morbid)

Flies

the corpse lay upon the ground as it had for many days

a cloud of blackness covers it, a buzzing evil haze

swarming in the nose and mouth, crawling in the ears

feasting on the flesh that was alive for many years

a larger fly, flash green and black was dancing on the chin

playing in the sticky redness, dripping from within

and as the creatures gorged on blood, mans chest began to rise

and when it rose, it fell again as flies took to the skies

and hovered there a cloud of death as breathing did not cease

and as the beasties lingered there, their numbers did increase

one by one more flies appeared and added to the swarm

attracted to the dripping blood, so sweet and red and warm

one tiny fly buzzed threateningly toward the waking man

and settled on his living face and waited for his clan

the other creatures grew confidence and closed in on the ground

buzzed around the young mans face a frenzied evil sound

the swarmed into his mouth and nose wriggled into his head

the crawled around and feasted, until the man was dead

and when the breath had left him, they stayed a while more

lavishly enjoying the gruesomeness of gore.

(Mwahahahaha......cackle...laugh...u like? please comment because i cant be bothered to go through the poem and find bits that need improving, if other people tell me it saves a lot of time)

It paints the details of the actions of the flies in some detail. Quite vivid.
