My Life

by Katrina Boblina   Jul 8, 2005

All alone, everyday
counting the seconds of time.
My life is a story,
Written in rhyme:

My mom, a single parent.
Two jobs she would take,
To feed me and my brother
with all the money we'd make.

Her time had soon come,
Along with my brother,
Died in a car wreck
Leaving me with no other.

The streets then my home.
4 years had gone by,
In all these sad years,
It did no good to cry.

Then I found a "family"
I live with them in fear.
The father, he beats me
The mother, never here.

So on lonely nights
Or, I guess, all the time.
I'll grab my good pencil
For another sad rhyme.

This is a sad poem with an almost uplifting message at the end: write and don't let things take control of you.

    My life is a story,
    Written in rhyme

    I loved this part especially.

That was very sad, as I'm sure almost everyone would agree, and I hope that it is not true.
If it is then I don't blame you for writing dark poetry, but if it isn't, you're a very talented writer.

    Good Writing!

Oh my.. I'm so sorry! That's horribly sad.. I got in a car wrek (not a horrible one though, we were lucky) and now I'm overly cautious.. even though I'm not doing the driving yet.

5/5 Excellent write! Again I love the flow. I love the message behind it.. keep writing, and I hope you're okay.
