As bombs explode

by Lost Girl   Jul 11, 2005

Each face stricken with horror as the news is said aloud
A million different people, but loved ones are amid the crowd
Tears stream from the eyes of hundreds in fear of defeat
No way of contacting their family and friends they long to meet

All I do is stand here so useless, back pressed against the wall
Looking out for others who prepare themselves for their fall
Parents working in the town, took the tube in to work today
I hear the whispers on the wind, praying that they will be ok

A school brought to madness, each child has lost all hope
If their families were hurt, how are they to ever cope?
Each one on their mobiles trying to find a guarantee
That everyone will be ok, but none of this worries me

I know that I am safe from harm, so I am numb within my shell
Watching out on suffering as others lives crumble to hell
Another bomb explodes and once more the fragments fall
Every familiar face beside me is praying for that reassuring call

What is it all leading to? Another war, more suffering and pain?
Why is this all happening now, and will it happen again?
Once they have heard those caring voices, the can rest their load
But more fear begins to rise as today more bombs explode
